Lyon Books presents Clark Brown, retired professor of English from CSU-Chico, who will be reading selections from Down in the Valley, signing copies of his book, and chatting with customers and friends.

Down in the Valley is a set of four stories and a novella set in a small college town in the Sacramento Valley.  (Sound familiar?)  His stories are peopled with figures you just know you’ve run into in Chico at parties or the Farmer’s Market, and that is a testament to Clark’s power of characterization.  These are not shallow or superficial tales of life in a college town, however, they are poignant psychological portraits of real people coping with real life.
