Community Tree Lighting

Celebrating the Magic of the Season!

Friday, December 3rd, Begins at 5:30 pm

Produced by the Downtown Chico Business Association (DCBA) and funded in part by the City of Chico, the Tree Lighting is a gift to the community.  Crowds will enjoy a musical program and participate in the countdown to light the tree. 

Standing at more than 55’ tall, the Blue Atlas Cedar is decorated by the City of Chico Tree Crew each year with more than 8,000 colorful LED lights.

Event Program:

5:30 – 6:00 pm ~ Pre Show Entertainment by The Yule Logs
6:00 pm ~ Sound of the Foothills perform “Jingle Bells” to kick off event
6:10 pm ~ Children’s Choir of Chico perform
6:20 pm ~ Words the City of Chico Mayor
6:25 pm ~ Sound of the Foothills perform
6:35 pm ~ Santa arrives on Antique Fire Engine escorted by City of Chico Fire Dept. Crowd counts down to tree lighting! Sound of the Foothills & Children’s Choir of Chico perform closing song “Silent Night”
6:40 pm ~ Closing Statements
6:45-8:00 pm ~ Santa visits with children at DCBA booth
8:00 pm ~ Santa departs on Fire Engine
