The Stansbury Home takes you back in history when prominent local physician Dr. Oscar Stansbury built the home in 1883, and it was retained by his family for almost 100 years, with its original interiors and furnishings intact.

Located at the corner of 5th and Salem Streets, this Italianate structure was built by prominent local physician Dr. Oscar Stansbury in 1883 and retained by his family for almost 100 years, with its original interiors and furnishings intact. Owned by the City of Chico since 1976, it is operated by the Stansbury Home Preservation Association as an historic house museum. The home contains Dr. Stansbury's office, which includes a display of the tools used in his practice.

Open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, except for major holidays, it is also host to two annual events:  The Ice Cream Social in August and the Victorian Christmas House in December.
