We offer an array of yoga, aerial, and pole classes, all of which are designed to help you tap into your authentic self. Our community is warm and welcoming, and together we practice holding one another up. If you are looking for a studio or just want to try something new, think about rolling into Freebird!

About the Owners

Meet Chelsea - Founder, Studio Operator, and Instructor:
Chelsea created Freebird with a clear vision: to build a space where people can come together and experience the transformative power of yoga and community. Her classes reflect a deep belief that healing happens not just on the mat, but in connection with others.

With a background in academia, studying archaeology and human evolution, Chelsea left her PhD path in 2017 to follow her true calling: teaching yoga. She's passionate about weaving together the ancient wisdom of yoga with insights from modern science, offering a grounded, accessible practice that invites students to explore their deeper selves through movement, breath, and awareness.

Chelsea is proudly neurodiverse, diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome and Autism. She advocates for yoga as a powerful and supportive practice for neurodiverse individuals, teaching from a place of lived experience, compassion, and curiosity.

Meet Alisa - Studio Operator and Instructor:
Say hello to Alisa, one of our amazing studio operators and instructors! She teaches pole, aerial, lyra, yin yoga and she's all about creating a fun, welcoming space where every body and skill level can shine. Alisa is a certified Pole Fitness Alliance instructor with a BA in Theatre Arts, so don't be surprised if a little flair and drama sneak into her classes (in the best way possible).

She's also your go-to person for anything studio-related, questions, class info, you name it. And if she's not in the air or answering your emails, she's probably cuddling with her two adorable cats, Lulu and Jingles.

What do you love about being in Downtown Chico?

"We love being right in the heart of Chico! There is such a variety of businesses and people in this area. We are so lucky to be close to Chico State, Bidwell Park, and the lovely Barber neighborhood."
