About Us

California Occupational Medical Professionals (COMP) was founded in November 2000 in Oroville, California, through the collaboration of AJ Haggard Esq, David McKinney MD, and Karen Lundberg FNP. The founding team had previously played a pivotal role in developing occupational medical services and Workers Compensation programs for hospitals in Oroville and Chico. Over the years, Judge Haggard has mentored Jeevan DNP, ensuring the continuation of the core values of resilience, hard work, kindness, adaptability, and flexibility that defined the organization's foundation.

Recognizing that the complexities of the system were not well-suited to environments focused on general public welfare, the founders established COMP to specifically address the challenges faced by injured workers, employers, and insurance companies. Built from the ground up, the organization is dedicated to providing quality, timely medical services aimed at resolving specific injuries and getting workers back to their jobs as quickly as possible.

As the Workers Compensation system has evolved through significant regulatory changes over the past decades, California Occupational Medical Professionals has remained at the forefront of these changes, continuing to fulfill its mission of ensuring injured workers receive the best medical treatment available for a swift return to work. This commitment has also led to the development of wellness programs designed to prevent injuries before they occur. Our onsite programs for employers focus on minimizing lost time and demonstrating a commitment to the health and wellbeing of their employees, offering services such as pre-employment physicals.
